MISSION: To search out and employ a wordpress design that suited Crystal Thompson’s burgeoning wordpress skills and met the immediate needs of her health-focused blog. Crystal also requested aid in setting up her site and a small tutoring session on how to use wordpress, as well as the plugins that make wordpress easy.

Unique
Crystal’s blog needed a unique logo that played up the Zero in the name.

Crystal wanted something a little playful to fit her personality.

Her former site was difficult to alter. She wanted an easily customizable site, which could be upgraded to a purchased theme later.

The site needed to reflect Crystal’s fearless love of color but remain tasteful.

Like many people, Crystal started with zero wordpress experience. She needed wordpress bootcamp training.

Once her site was up and running, she needed the right weapons for the job: a plethora of plugins that even a secret agent would be proud to own.

Crystal came to us with some pretty concrete ideas. She knew what she wanted, but not how to get there. Although she wanted both a logo and a large header graphic for her blog, what she really needed was to learn wordpress. Within a few hours of tutoring, she understood how to work on her site and adjust things herself.
We took her chosen logo font to the next level with a custom-designed zero. This kept the text based logo unique to her. Her large header graphic is a photo-manipulation of a low quality image. It required a lot of overpainting to make it crisp enough to blow up large. In order to keep the design flexible we isolated her body on a transparent png. Now she can freshen up her blog by exchanging the rippling water background with other pictures. Her site may be viewed at www.zerocrapblog.com.
